Charlotte’s Web Bookmobile hosting inaugural edible books contest | Lifestyles

Young chefs ages 8 to 14 are invited to participate in Lompoc Library’s inaugural edible books contest presented by the Charlotte’s Web Bookmobile on Friday, Aug. 9.

Participants will create an edible masterpiece based on their favorite book or book character and bring it to the event for judging during the Lompoc Chamber’s Friday Old Town Market at 6:30 p.m.

The bookmobile will be parked on H Street and Cypress Avenue.

Some examples include decorating a cupcake to represent a favorite literary character or creating a scene from a favorite book out of fruit slices.

Judges will be Lompoc Mayor Jenelle Osborne and local business owner Missy Morales of Sweet Baking Co.

Categories include Best in Show, Funniest/Punniest, Most Checked Out, Most Creative and People’s Choice.

Participants must register online by Thursday, Aug. 8 at 5 p.m.
